The Judo practitioner also raised funds for the Didi Hirsch Mental Health Services by allowing anyone to spar with her for £150, with all proceeds going to the charity.
Additionally, Ronda Rousey sold approximately 56,800 t-shirts, raising £1 million for a charity in Southern California. Most of the proceeds from the t-shirt sales were used to provide mental health care and substance abuse treatment for over 90,000 people in California, where she was born.
In 2016, Rousey also donated £21,500 to Flavio Canto, a Judo teacher in Brazil. "I don't know what to say. Ronda, she is a champion both inside and outside the octagon," Flavio Canto said about Ronda Rousey's meaningful gesture.
Notably, her "Rousey's Free Rice Campaign" raised enough to feed 103,296 people in underdeveloped countries after just 7 fights.
Rousey has always been attentive to the younger generation. In 2009, she initiated the Gompers Judo program, organizing fundraising events to support young judo students. The funds raised are used for purchasing plane tickets and covering expenses for young athletes to travel to Washington DC to participate in competitions.
