Last Saturday, on August 28th, UFC champion Ronda Rousey tied the knot with her fellow fighter Travis Browne on the Hawaiian island, Browne's hometown.
Ronda Rousey had a passionate relationship with another UFC fighter, Brendan Schaub, in the same year of 2015 before starting to date Travis Browne.
Interestingly, Travis himself had a knockout victory over Schaub in the past. Both Ronda Rousey and Browne kept their relationship private until it was widely announced in the media in October 2015.
Browne proposed to Rousey under a waterfall in New Zealand in April of this year.
"I really don't know what to do with organizing a wedding," Ronda Rousey once said in an interview with TMZ about her engagement. However, that doesn't seem to have slowed her down in planning the wedding.
UFC President Dana White announced Rousey's happy news the day before the Mayweather-McGregor fight, during an appearance on
The Rich Eisen Show. Dana revealed that he couldn't attend the couple's wedding because August 26th was also the date of the Mayweather-McGregor fight.
Rousey shared all the wedding photos with her husband on her personal social media accounts. One particularly standout photo was captioned, "The most wonderful and happy day of my life." The UFC women's champion truly made fans feel warm-hearted as their idol seemed genuinely happy.
Speaking of Rousey's career, she has not competed since her loss to Amanda Nunes at UFC 207 on December 30th last year, and it seems that her return to the octagon will not happen anytime soon.
Dana White has also spoken many times about Ronda Rousey possibly wanting to end her career at UFC, and maybe she should. Rousey's mother also commented that she really wants to see her daughter "retire" early, especially after witnessing her consecutive losses in the last UFC season.
She also believes that Rousey has a lot of potential to develop her career in other fields.
Rousey has truly shied away from the media since that defeat to Amanda. However, recently she is rumored to have appeared on the set of the NBC TV series "Blindspot." Could she have found a new path in acting after playing a role in an upcoming episode of this series?
